Conference n. 3 | ACTS OF FAITH
Teatr Powszechny (Poland)
Conference “Acts of Faith” and an overview of shows
As part of the long-term European project "Face to Faith" an overview of shows and an international conference “Acts of Faith” was held at Teatr Powszechny (Powszechny Theater) in Warsaw on March 2nd, 3rd and 4th 2023. The main focus of the event was the topic of faith as an element of building an identity and political contexts that bring together or divide society. There is a wide understanding of faith, in the relation to both, traditional religions and to modern conspiracy theories, as well as propaganda acts, which is why the context of the Ukrainian war is a crucial element for us.
The “Face to Faith” international project was co-organized by Teatr Powszechny (Powszechny Theater) in Warsaw and six other theaters and festivals from Europe and Israel: ANTI Contemporary Art Festival (Finland), Divadlo pod Palmovkou (Czech Republic), Gesher Theater (Israel), Jam Factory Art Center (Ukraine), Sommerblut Kulturfestival e.V. (Germany) – the coordinator of the project, and Teatro dei Venti (Italy). This initiative is being organized as a part of the European Union’s “Creative Europe” programme.
